I know you might be wondering why should learn from this perspective. But trust me, reading this will be an enjoyable experience. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the learning process that we forget to embrace the joy that comes with it. So, I thought I’d share it in this fun and exciting way. Go ahead, dive in and let’s embark on this knowledge adventure together!

👨 Idea Generation (Parents): The parents in the joint family represent the initial idea generation phase. Just as parents brainstorm and conceive ideas for the family’s betterment, product managers initiate the ideation process, exploring various concepts and possibilities for new products or product improvements.

👴 Market Research (Grandparents): The grandparents symbolize the wisdom and experience gathered over time. Similarly, market research serves as the guiding force for product managers. They analyze market trends, conduct customer surveys, and gather insights to understand customer needs and preferences, just as grandparents provide valuable guidance based on their years of experience.

👧Requirements Gathering (Siblings): The siblings in the joint family represent the diverse perspectives and opinions of different stakeholders. Similarly, during the requirements gathering phase, product managers collaborate with various stakeholders, including developers, designers, marketers, and customers, to gather & prioritize product requirements.

👨Product Development (Parents and Siblings): Product development is akin to the joint effort of parents and siblings in nurturing and raising the family. Product managers work closely with cross-functional teams, just as parents and siblings collaborate to develop the product, leveraging their skills and expertise to design, build, and test the product iteratively.

👴 Product Launch (Parents and Grandparents): The joint effort of parents and grandparents symbolizes the significance of product launch. Product managers utilize the experience and knowledge gained from market research (grandparents) and collaborate with the development team (parents) to bring the product to market successfully, ensuring a smooth launch and capturing the attention of target customers.

👧 Market Growth and Adoption (Siblings): The siblings play an active role in promoting family values and traditions. Similarly, product managers focus on driving market growth and adoption. They implement marketing strategies, monitor user feedback, and iterate on the product to ensure its acceptance and success in the market.

👴 👨 Product Optimization (Parents and Grandparents): Continuous product optimization corresponds to the collective effort of parents and grandparents to maintain and improve the family’s well-being. Product managers, with inputs from market research (grandparents) and collaboration with development teams (parents), constantly analyse user data, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to deliver an exceptional user experience.

Product Retirement or Pivot (Family Consensus): Family decisions are made through consensus. Similarly, product managers collaborate with stakeholders to decide whether to retire a product or pivot its direction.
